Beneath many a vast repository of fancy NFTs lays an embarrassing hidden folder of shame. In itself, representing an unwanted reminder of ill-judged FOMO, unscrupulous rug-pulls, and blockchain-based spam that most would prefer forgotten. Now however, pioneering NFT artist, Slimesunday, has offered a way out, a symbolic purge of the trash lurking at the bottom of your crypto wallet.
In what Slimesunday has dubbed ‘The Great Purge,’ the master artist will invite folks from all across the blockchain to condemn their cringe-worthy NFTs to the fiery pit in exchange for a fabulous new artwork. In essence, it will offer collectors a chance to switch out their bad decisions and start afresh, alleviating them of their embarrassing beacons for derision.
The grand event will kick off on August 21, but for now, the artwork involved remains under wraps. However, based on Slimesunday’s previous works, collectors can expect a stylishly vibrant image of pure artistic quality. One that will not lurk in the shadows, but stand out to elevate the contents of any wallet.
If you've ever felt scammed or taken advantage of by bad actors, i'm giving you an opportunity to participate in a symbolic cleanse on the space. Next week on BASE i'm allowing you to BURN literally anything from your wallet to redeem one of my works. I suggest you read below to… pic.twitter.com/XP6Fmbw8XX

That said, collectors should take care when interacting with any unsolicited NFTs airdropped into wallets from unverified locations. Therefore, it is pertinent to only send NFTs that collectors have transacted with in the past, and that are the result of miss-judged buying decisions.
Is Something Special Coming for Slimesunday Collectors?
Towards the end of Slimesunday‘s magnificent announcement, a small note alludes to burning one of the artists own works. In the message, he says “if you find this project meaningful, and want to contribute one of my artworks to the burn, your contribution will be greatly appreciated.” Could this refer to an additional reward for burning a Slimesunday NFT? Tune in on August 21 to find out!
